Dental implants are dental restorations that can replace one or more missing teeth at the root. Whether you have a single lost tooth or need to replace full arches, we can help.
At Pharr Road Dentistry, we offer dental implants for one or more missing teeth. Our dental care team will take digital x-rays and images of teeth to determine the best placement of your dental implants as well as how many implants are needed for securing a dental bridge or denture. Dr. Keya Patel works with patients on an individual basis to help them restore the look and function of their smiles with implant dentistry.
Dental Implant Treatment at Pharr Road Dentistry in Buckhead, GA
Before treatment, we will assess the health of your teeth and gums to determine if you require gum disease treatment, a tooth extraction, or bone grafting treatment. These treatments need to be completed before implant surgery to ensure that the implants are as stable as possible. You can also discuss your goals and budget with us prior to treatment. We take these factors into account when determining which implant restoration is right for your needs.
To begin implant treatment, we will create an opening in the gum and surgically place the implant. The titanium post is screwed into existing bone tissue and the gums are sutured in place. The implant fuses to the jawbone over a 3 to 6-month process called osseointegration. This process creates a stable foundation for the dental implant. If you require a dental bridge or denture, we will help design the attachment as well as how many implants will be needed to secure the restoration.
What Are the Benefits of Dental Implants?
By choosing dental implants and implant-secured restorations, our patients are able to revitalize the look and function of their smiles. Dental implants:

Post-Op Dental Implant Care
Following your initial dental implant surgery, bleeding at the implant site can continue for several hours. To stop the bleeding, fold damp gauze over the extraction site and gently bite on it for 30-60 minutes. Replace the gauze once it is soaked through.
To minimize swelling, apply ice packs to the outside of your face for the first 24 hours. We will prescribe pain medication or antibacterial mouth rinses so the healing process goes smoothly. While your mouth is still numb, you should avoid hot liquids or foods. You may eat solid foods once the numbness wears off.
After your implants are fully healed, you may brush and floss between your implants. Remember to use products formulated for sensitive teeth and brush using toothbrushes with soft bristles.
