Spear Study Club: 

• Dr. Patel is a member of an Atlanta-based Spear Study Club that hosts monthly meetings to discuss complex patient cases from practices all over Atlanta. Her study club consists of general dentists and local specialists, including orthodontists, endodontists, oral surgeons, periodontists, prosthodontists, allowing for discussion on how to provide the most comprehensive and effective care. The group also participates in a guided case-presentation by a Spear instructor, which allows each specialist to offer insight. This synergist approach to treatment planning and step-wise execution empowers Dr. Patel to offer comprehensive care to patients.
• Discussions with colleagues that are also passionate about providing excellent patient care allows participants to stay current with new research and improvements in techniques that further benefit patients.

Academy for Sports Dentistry

• Dr. Patel is a member of the Academy for Sports Dentistry. Our practice has access to other dentists that cater to sports teams, and we engage in continuing education specific to the field.
• We seek out specific continuing education in managing trauma and preventing injury.

Our doctors (Keya Patel & Dr. Paul P. McDonald) participate in continuing education throughout the year on various topics that keep our practice up-to-date on patient care. Dr. Patel has over 300 hours of implant and surgery continuing education, including hands-on experience with suturing and dental trauma. She also is an active participant in her Spear Study Club, and uses the Spear Education resources available online and in-person to further her knowledge base. She is CPR certified and was invited to serve as part-time faculty upon graduation in the Endodontic Clinic at UNLV School of Dental Medicine.
